Carlos Henrique Casemiro was born 23 February 1992. He is also known as Casemiro. He is a Brazilian footballer and plays as a defensive player for Real Madrid in Spain and the Brazilian national team.
He was born in Sao Paulo and scored 11 goals in 112 games. In 2013, he moved to Real Madrid, and also spent a season at Porto on loan. From 2013-14 to 2017-18, he was part of Real Madrid’s four Champions League winning squad.
Casemiro is an international full-time since 2011. He was part of Brazil’s squad at both the 2015 and 2016 Copa America tournaments, as well as the 2018 World Cup.
Casemiro CLUB CAREER
Casemiro was born in Sao Jose dos Campos (Sao Paulo) and is a product of the Sao Paulo FC youth system. He was a captain from the age of 11 onwards. His nickname, “Carlo”, was an augmentative name of his first name, in Portuguese. Casemiro would be called up to the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2009.
Casemiro made his Serie A debut against Santos FC on 25 July 2010. His first professional goal was scored on 15 August in a draw with Cruzeiro Esporte Clube.
After replacing Fabricio, Casemiro scored the goal that would give him the lead in a 2-0 victory over Mogi Mirim Esporte Clube. However, he was later dismissed. Sao Paulo won the Copa Sudamericana. The player made one substitute appearance in a 5-0 win against Club Universidad de Chile on the quarter-final second legs.
In late January 2013, Casemiro was assigned to the Segunda Division B-team by Real Madrid. His first match in the competition was on 16 February. He lost to CE Sabadell FC 1-3.
Casemiro made his La Liga debut in April 2013. He played the entire 90 minutes of a 3-1 home victory over Real Betis.His first European goal was scored on June 2, opening the reserve’s win against AD Alcorcon at Alfredo di Stefano Stadium. Eight days later, he was granted permanent status for four years with a fee R$18.738 millions.
Casemiro was loaned by FC Porto to play in the 2014 season. The Portuguese player played 40 games, scoring four goals and a free kick in a 4-0 win at home (5-1 aggregate) against FC Basel on the 10th March 2015.
Casemiro was released by Real Madrid on 5 June 2015. He activated his buyback clause and his contract was extended for two more months to 2021. He scored his first competitive goal for the Merengues on 13 March 2015, when he was awarded a corner kick by Jese at the 89th minute. This resulted in a 2-1 win at UD Las Palmas.
Casemiro was primarily a backup player under Rafael Benitez, but under Zinedine Zidane, he became a first-choice player and made 11 appearances in the Champions League as the season finished in victory.. He played 120 minutes against Atletico Madrid in the final. Penalty shootout victory.
Casemiro scored four goals in 25 matches during 2016-17 to help his team win its first national championship for five years.. His long-range goal in the Champions League final against Juventus FC was a major victory for his side. He also scored a goal on the 8th of August 2017 to put his team ahead of Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup, which saw him score a 2-1 win.
Casemiro was present in 13 games and scored one goal during the 2017-18 Champions League. Madrid won the 13th consecutive overall title.
Casemiro INTERNATIONAL CAREER
Casemiro, who was just 19 years old, made his debut with Brazil’s full team on 14 September 2011, in a 0-0 draw against Argentina. Although he was selected in the Copa America 2015 squad, he did not participate in any matches against Chile in the quarter-final.
For the next FIFA World Cup in Russia, manager Tite picked Casemiro in May of this year.. On 17 June, he made his debut in the competition by playing 60 minutes in a draw to Switzerland in the group stage.
