David Alaba is an Austrian professional footballer. He plays for the German club Bayern Munich as well as the Austria national soccer team. Austria holds the record for the youngest player to have played for their senior national soccer team. He was 17 years old when he made his debut.

Alaba is a versatile player who has played in many roles, including right and left-wing, central midfield, defense, and central midfield. However, he has become an outstanding left-back.


Early career

Alaba was born in Vienna. He began his career in Aspern with SV Aspern in Aspern’s 22nd district. Alaba then joined the FK Austria Wien youth team at age 10. Alaba rose quickly through the ranks and was appointed to the first-team substitutes’ bench for a Bundesliga match in April 2008.
