Joe Root is an English international cricketer. He is the current captain of the English test Team. He is a domestic player for Yorkshire. He was born in Sheffield (South Yorkshire), England. His birth date is 30/12/1990. His age is currently 30 years.

The Root is a Right-handed batsman in England, and his role is to bat.  Root was initially an Off-spinner and batsman but has spent most of his time playing middle-order cricket for England. Many awards have been presented to him for the best performances he has played for England. England’s 1000th anniversary.

The ECB named him in the top Test XI of the country in August 2018. He currently ranks sixth in Test batting and eighth in 8ThAccording to the ICC Player Rankings, he was previously classified as the best Test batsman for England in ODI batting.

For his early education, he attended King Ecgbert School in Sheffield. Root was born in Dore, Sheffield. Root was inspired by Michael Vaughan, an ex-England captain, and batsman from Yorkshire.

 He made his Yorkshire Team debut against Derbyshire at Abbeydale Park on 18 July 2007. 

He made his Test debut against India on 13/12/12 2012. He made his ODI debut against India on 11 January 2013. He made his T20 debut against India on 22/12/12.

He played for Yorkshire since his early career.  He was a good scorer with 57 runs, and he also took 133 wickets together with Adam Lyth. He represented the Academy side and was named Player when Yorkshire’s Academy won Abu Dhabi’s Pro ARCH trophy.

After his success, Root was offered a spot in Yorkshire’s final Pro40 match at Headingley against Essex. Root was the top scorer in Yorkshire’s 187-7 with 63. Root has also been a performer for Yorkshire. He captained Yorkshire to the 2014 County Championship title and helped them keep it the following year.

Root was the 655th England player to play Test cricket in the fourth against India. He received his cap from Paul Collingwood, an ex-England all-rounder. Root was initially an opener, but he moved to England to play at the six number.

He made his Twenty20 debut in match two of a series. However, he wasn’t required to bat, and, following the withdrawal of Jonny Bairstow, he was also included on the ODI squad.

Root made his ODI debut against India on 11 January 2013. Root ended the ODI series by scoring 163 runs.

Root was retained in the Test squad for the 2013 Tour of India and was also added to the previously announced ODI/Twenty20 squads.

England selected Root to their team of 15 for the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. The ICC also named Root as the 12 players in the Team of the Tournament. Root was the opening batsman for Alastair, the Ashes series’ captain. Root finished the Test series with 339 runs and three wickets. He also participated in the T20 series. Root was successful with 91 runs and one wicket.

Joe Root was also part of the England team during the 2014 tour to the West Indies. He was a 2-1 series winner with 167 runs scored and four wickets. The World Test XI was named the ICC for its outstanding performance in the Test series.

He was also selected for the 2014-15 Sri Lankan tour to participate in the 7-game ODI series.

He became the youngest player to reach a century in a World Cup match in 2015. Root was selected for the England squad in the 2015 West Indies tour. Root finished the series with 358 runs and three wickets. Root was selected to represent England on the 2015 tour to the UAE to face Pakistan.

Root was facing this situation for the first time. Root was England’s second-highest scorer in the Test series against Pakistan, scoring 287 runs. Root finished the ODI series against Pakistan in 145 runs.

Root was also selected for the England squad at the 2016 ICC World Twenty20. Root was also nominated for the Sri Lankan tour to England by the England squad.

On 13 February 2017, he was appointed as his replacement as Test captain and full-time captain. He is also the 80 th captain for England.

2019 World Cup

Joe Root was selected as an integral part of the England side for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Root started the tournament with two centuries against Pakistan, West Indies, and West Indies. Three more half-centuries then followed the game. He was playing his 250th international against Sri Lanka at the World Cup.

Joe Root was the fifth-highest run-scorer of the tournament, with 556 runs scored in 11 innings. England won their first fifty-over World Cup with Joe Root’s vital contributions to the game.
