Toni Kroos Biography

Toni Kroos, a professional German footballer, plays as a midfielder for both the German national football team and the Spanish club Real Madrid. He has been part of many winning teams in international and national tournaments. He was born in Greifswald (East Germany) and had a younger brother Felix. They grew up playing football together. Toni was a member of Toni’s school football team. 

Toni started his professional football career with Greifswalder FC. Toni later moved to the youth team of Hansa Rostock.’ Toni then joined a ‘Bayern Munich’ team. Toni was also part of the UEFA European Championship’s ‘Team of the Tournament.

Toni Kroos was conceived in Greifswald (East Germany) on January 4, 1990. His parents have a long and distinguished history in sports. Roland Kroos was his father and later became a professional wrestler. 

Birgit Kammer was a German badminton player who became a biology teacher. Toni grew up with Felix, his younger brother. He was exposed to a comfortable lifestyle from an early age.

Toni was greatly influenced by his parents, who were avid sports fans. He was disciplined in school and was an integral part of the school’s football team. He was an avid football fan, but he wasn’t very good at it during his childhood.

Roland, Toni’s father, was responsible for training his sons. Under his guidance, Toni developed incredible skills and became one of the most well-respected footballers at his school. Toni began to dedicate a lot of his time training and was able to succeed because of the support from his parents.

His first experience with serious football was at a local club called ‘Greifswalder FC. He continued playing until he reached 17 years old when he joined the youth team of ‘Bayern Munich. His dedication to the sport paid off soon as he was promoted to the senior squad at ‘Bayern.

He made his debut on the field for ‘Bayern Munich in a Bundesliga match against ‘Energie Cottbus in September 2007. At the moment, he was seventeen years old. He was also part of the 2008 UEFA Champions League team.

He was permitted to join the ‘Bayern Leverkusen in January 2009 to gain more experience on and off the field. He made 13 appearances in the 2008-2009 season for ‘Bayern Leverkusen,’ scoring one goal.

His performance improved significantly in the following season. He played for ‘Leverkusen’ and had four assists as well as five goals in five matches.

 He was awarded ‘Player Of The Month’ in December 2009 and January 2010. By the end of the season, he was a very competitive player with nine goals and twelve assists in 33 matches.

He was acquired by ‘Bayern Munich’ in the summer of 2010. This happened after his loan period with “Bayern Leverkusen” had ended. He enjoyed a great 2012-2013 season playing for Bayern Munich. He scored four goals in five matches of the ‘Bundesliga.’ He also helped his team win 2014’s ‘Bundesliga’ title.

Real Madrid officially signed Toni in July 2014. They also announced that he would continue to be part of their team-up until 2020. Although he did not disclose the official signing amount, there were rumors that it was between 24 and 30 million Euros. Toni, a big fan of Real Madrid, admitted to being at the ceremony that he was a vast Madrid fan.

He made his debut in the UEFA Super Cup match against Seville on August 12, 2014. ‘Real Madrid” won the tournament. Along with two other midfielders, he played a crucial role in his team’s 22 consecutive victories towards the end of 2014. Toni also played a vital role in Real Madrid’s win of the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup.

Zinedine Zidane supported Toni in the 2015-2016 season. Zidane had joined ‘Real Madrid as a midfielder years before. Zidane praised Toni, who said that Toni was the “perfect signing of Real Madrid.” Thus, Toni became the first German player to win two ‘Champions Trophies’ while playing for two teams.

Toni’s contract at Real Madrid was extended to 2022 in October 2016. He was again included in the UEFA Team of the year after the 2016-2017 season. He was also a part of three champion teams and helped his team defend the Champions Trophy.

His international record has also been outstanding over the years. Toni’s exceptional performances earned him a spot in the German national squad. He displayed his talent at the 2007 Under-17 World Cup. He scored five goals during the tournament and was awarded the ‘Golden Ball,’ given to the best player at the game.

Despite his outstanding performances at the 2009 Euro Under-21 Championship qualifiers, he wasn’t selected for the final team to compete in the tournament. Germany won the title, however, without him.

He was officially admitted to the senior national team in January 2010. He played against Ghana in the final match of the group stage.

Germany team then included Toni in the 2014 German ‘World Cup” squad. He scored two goals in the semi-final against Brazil within two minutes, which led his team to a stunning 7-1 victory. According to the ‘Castrol Performance Index, Toni was the most likely candidate for the prestigious ‘Player-of-the-Tournament’ award. However, he couldn’t make it past the top 10 shortlists for the coveted ‘Golden Ball.’

Toni Kroos married Jessica Farber, his long-term lover, in 2015.. Their two children are Leon and Amelie. 

They live in their Mallorca, Spain mansion.
